Mission & Vision

Maine Fibershed is a Maine non-profit corporation that develops regional fiber systems to create income equity and expand opportunities. Our goal is to implement climate beneficial agriculture, rebuild regional manufacturing, and educate the public about the benefits of soil-to-soil fiber and dye systems. Our programs are inspired by the desire to protect Maine’s natural resources, shorten supply chains, and create a common-ground community.

Our mission is to teach stewardship of our land and resources, foster friendship and creativity, and facilitate conversations and strategies that address the challenges of a localized and widespread fiber supply chain.
