Hyperbolic Crochet

October 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Learn to crochet an evocative and beautiful mathematical object called a hyperbolic plane. Whether you love math or think you hate it, this workshop is for everyone. No previous crochet experience needed.

You’ll leave with your project well begun, and with instructions for finishing it. If you have a crochet hook and yarn (worsted weight is ideal), bring them. If not, they will be available for loan or sale at the workshop.

Sarah Kuhn is a Lincolnville resident, retired professor, and a recovering math-o-phobe. She is the author of the book “Transforming Learning Through Tangible Instruction: The Case for Thinking with Things.” She offers professional development workshops for teachers, and visible mending workshops for everyone. You can find her online at Occupy the Hand.
