Let’s Make Dorset Buttons!

August 8 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Linda Perry is a lifelong yarn enthusiast specializing in knitting and dyeing. After a deep dive into Dorset buttons resulted in making over a thousand of them, her buttons have been successfully marketed worldwide. With degrees in Textiles and Fashion Design, Linda has taught fiber and fashion courses at the college level for many decades.

What You’ll Learn:  The historic Dorset Button was originally crafted in Dorset England, spanning from 1600- 1850. Learn how to make the versatile Cartwheel Dorset button, including tips on color combinations, use of the ideal wool yarn, and various applications and uses.

You will have the opportunity to complete three 1” buttons, choosing from a wide array of yarn colors. Different ways to use the buttons — from practical to decorative end products will be shown.

You will make a finished shawl/kilt pin using one of your creations. All materials will be included for three buttons and the shawl/kilt pin.
