Robin is a multi-disciplined, multi-faceted, retired nurse, teacher, politician, and sheep farmer. At her farm in Livermore Falls, Maine, along with her wife, Patty, Robin raises registered Columbia sheep. She retired from nursing about five years ago and has been a full-on sheep farmer since. During a midlife crisis in the early 2000s, she went back to school and got a bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University, and made her way to Maine to get her master’s degree in community planning and development. Robin’s specialty is in rural economic development and food systems.
Robin is thrilled to be a member of the Maine Fibershed board and looks forward to working with a diverse group of farmers, producers, craftspersons, and consumers. She has been on many boards over the last 20 years including national USDA boards and committees and is currently a school board member and RSU 73. Robin is eager to use those experiences to help the Maine Fibershed educate everyone on the importance of natural fibers and sustainability.
